Why I Wrote “The S/HE Identity”

In 1985 God called me into the ministry and told me to teach women to find their identity in him. At the time, I had no idea what the Lord was talking about. Who knew that women could not be who God called them to be? I never thought about doing anything for God, but when he called me I most certainly thought I could do anything that God told me to do. It wasn’t until I jumped out there and started talking about God’s woman that I quickly found out that as women, we have little value in the world as human beings. I asked God “How did this happen?” The message in my new book, “The S/HE identity” is what God revealed to me. What happened to God’s woman is rooted in religion. Scriptures in the Bible were mistranslated and a false doctrine concerning women was formed.

The majority of women around the world are viewed as property, sex objects, servants and slaves. I researched this topic for many years and history will validate that this is a true statement. The fact that women are de-valued in such a way, leads to no self-worth and low self-esteem.

However, the good news is that God’s Holy Spirit is moving in the earth and women have always pushed against the grain when it comes right down to it! We are not property, sex objects, servants or slaves! We are the female part of God, created with purpose and vision!

I wrote “the S/HE Identity because I want women to know who they are in God. I want women to discover their true identity and understand that what we have been taught, all of our lives, concerning the Creation story from the Bible is one BIG lie! A cunning strategy from the Devil to lower the woman beneath the man and cause us to lose our identity in God; and sad to say for the most part that his plan worked.

However, God is smarter than the Devil! There is something inside of us, as women, that won’t allow us to be defined by man. We know we don’t want to be oppressed and de-valued. We don’t want to be sex objects and taken physically without our consent. We don’t want a man to lord over us and put us in bondage. We want to know who we are in God and walk in that light and truth.

I want every woman to know that in the beginning, we were defined by our Creator. And God’s definition of the very first woman was a free woman, equal in every way with the first man. They both received the same blessing from God, and they both were given equal dominion and authority over the earth! Adam was responsible for the Fall because he disobeyed God. And even though the woman was blamed, the fall did not change God’s original intent or blessing for humanity.

It’s time for women and men to take a fresh look at the Creation story and embrace the revealed knowledge brought forth in “The S/HE Identity.” We are all in this together; Male and female in one body, the body of Christ. We are loved and valued by God and we are called to love God and to love each another! Amen.
